Digital Photography Tutorial Shapwick, “Develop Your Style And Retouch For It”

“Develop Your Style And Retouch For It” is the main theme for this tutorial, trying to shoot something that does not fit your vision then hoping Photoshop will come to the rescue will not produce fulfilling imagery.

Moored Between The Reeds

We head off before dawn and head out on location to Shapwick Heath on the wetlands of Somerset in England.
Here we explore several promising location where we attempt to capture images that are in keeping with my personal vision/style.
We discuss what I’m trying to get from the shots and explain why some don’t work for me although I try as I might to produce something from them anyway.

One Of The Locations That Just Did Not Do It For Me.

Back in the studio we view some of the images we captured and look at some of the finished files before being taken step by step through the retouching of one of the images.
During he screencast we see how the various adjustments can help accentuate what you have captured with the camera.

One To One Training In The Sun

I get to meet some interesting people in my job and even when giving digital photography workshops I have often found myself shooting one of my students.

This occasion I was giving some one to one training to Martin a video-tv camera man who flew over from Spain.

Luckily for us he brought some sunny weather with him and we managed to get out and enjoy a great day’s shooting.
