A couple of weeks ago I gave a talk at the Royal Photographic Society’s Midlands Digital Group (Midig) along with a nice chap called John Arnold.
John runs a website & vodcast called Photo Walkthrough where he gives some great free tutorials on Photoshop & Lightroom Techniques along with product reviews.
John gave a great presentation at Midig on defining a style within photoshop which created some very interesting discussions.
Well I’m still away on location at the bike show but thought I’d pop in to see if you all are behavingĀ
I’m on my 3rd model of the week today with another 3 due before the end of the show on Sunday (no I don’t keep wearing them out!) and it’s been great fun and different to what I normally do.
Christmas is approaching but no rest for me as I’m planning the new video and see the xmas period as a chance to get it in production so look out for that in the New Year.
Bit disappointed to not to see more entries for MEGAĀ December Competition so come on get them images submitted !
Cheers
Simon
Do you ever find it intriguing why you are drawn to certain places, object or people and just have to photograph it or them?
While hosting my 3 Mystic Mumps Digital Photography Workshop I had such a moment when I met Paul who was attending the workshop.
Paul a softly spoken man is a landscape gardener here in Somerset but it turns out he used to rub shoulders with the likes of Kylie Minogueand other mega stars of the music industry while aĀ photographer for EMI Records in London. I’m sure he has many great tales to tell it was just a shame that the weekend was rather too busy to get chance to properly sit down and ask him about it all.
Anyway I’m still not sure why I just had to shoot him but I suspect it was something to do with character.

I mentioned a few months back that I had been short listed for Landscape Photographer Of The Year.
Last week the results where announced and despite not winning I’m very pleased to say my image was highly commended and was in the top 1% of the overall entries and in the most competitive category.
This means my image will be published in the book, Landscape Photographer of the Year ā Collection 03, by AA Publishing and Exhibited in a six-week exhibition to be held at the National Theatre on Londonās South Bank from December 2009 .
Due to the popularity of our “3 Mystic Mumps And A Marsh” November Workshop I have decided to add 2 more dates in 2010.
